About us
Brief History
We began our travels in 1997 from Melbourne, Australia with our primary school aged daughters for a brief business venture in Bangkok, Thailand. This adventure proved too much fun to stop, so with a portable business at the time, the journey continued with stays in the Italian countryside, the South of France, New York then to Rome where we set up a permanent home so the girls could complete their education. During our travels we often found ourselves in need of short term apartment accommodation and came up against the same difficulties each time, websites that were difficult to navigate and agencies not attuned to the needs of foreign tourists.
A few friends had asked us to find apartments for them in Rome when visiting and one of those friends suggested we go into the short term apartment rental business and build ourselves a website we agreed it was the perfect business for us as we'd had so much experience as customers and were in the perfect place to begin.
Our website evolution
2003 › RomeAccom site launch
We launched the first site called RomeAccom.com in Feb 2003 with a small group of apartments in Rome, before long the demand for other areas of Italy became obvious and we expanded our listing to Venice, Florence, Tuscany, changing the name to Italy-Accom.com in 2004 and a new website.
2004 › Italy-Accom.com launch
We launched Italy-Accom.com in 2004 with our Italy wide apartment rentals, with properties in Rome.Before long the demand for other areas of Italy became obvious and we expanded our listing to Venice, Florence, Tuscany, necessitating the name change to Italy-Accom.com in 2004 and a new website.
2005 › Site Revamp
In 2005 the Italy-Accom website was recreated with an updated look; we continued traveling Italy to search out good quality properties and the listings continued to grow.
2008 › Site Revamp
In 2008 the Italy-Accom website was totally overhauled to include availability calendars and the inclusion of properties on the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento.
2010 › Launch of Worldwide-Accom
Mid way through 2009 when our youngest daughter was about to leave Italy to study abroad, we decided it was time to begin our expansion into other areas of Europe, necessitating the name change to Worldwide-Accom. We now spend time between each location inspecting and photographing properties; adding them to our website. We launched Worldwide-Accom in July 2010 allowing our clients to book online with more resources to make the booking experience easier.
